How can I find out whether I live in the parish? - Try looking at the parish map. If you are still not sure, the Parish Office will be pleased to advise you.
How do I join the electoral roll? - You are eligible to join our electoral roll by attending the church regularly for 6 months.
What if I have connections with St Peter's? - If you live outside our parish but are unable to attend our church regularly, you may still be eligible for an Archbishop's Licence to enable you to be married here if you have connections with St Peter's. Please contact the Parish Office for help.
Are there any other restrictions? - Special regulations apply if you are not British Nationals and have not resided in the UK for 6 months. We will help you with these when you contact us.
Does it matter if one of us has been divorced? - Divorce is not always a barrier to remarriage in church, but if either of you has been divorced, you will need to make an appointment to meet one of our clergy to discuss your particular circumstances.
How do I book a wedding at St Peter's? - Contact the Parish Office to reserve your date. You will then be invited, along with other couples, our weddings team, including the clergy, the organist and our flower arranger. This meeting is normally held in January.
What happens after that? - About six weeks before the wedding you should arrange to meet with the minister who will be presiding at your service. This will give an opportunity to discuss the details of the service, to get to know one another, and to talk more generally about Christian marriage. We will organise a rehearsal a few days before the wedding so that everyone involved is comfortable with what will happen.
