Electoral Roll

As you may be aware, the Electoral Roll is completely renewed every six years and the next new roll is due this year. Each person entitled to have his or her name entered on the new roll must complete a new form which will be available in church and from the parish office from 2nd March. It is also available for you to download. (see bottom of this page).

No names are carried over from the old Roll and everyone must make a new application to be included in the new Roll.

The Electoral Roll is St. Peter’s church’s register of electors. In the same way that being on the civic electoral roll allows you to vote in parliamentary and local elections, joining the Church Electoral Roll means that you can vote on Church matters, attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (Sunday 25 May) and stand for election to the PCC. Being on the Electoral Roll does NOT make you a “member” of our Church; simply regarding St. Peter’s Church as your spiritual home does that. Joining the roll is an important statement of witness. With your name on the electoral roll, the strength of our Church can be seen in our local area, and across the Diocese. If you’re a regular at St. Peter’s Church, you should be on the electoral roll!
We also hope that you will connect with our ministry and mission by either joining a home group, volunteering in some way in our ministry and mission, or supporting our work and ministry financially.

To apply for the Electoral Roll you must meet  ALL the following conditions:

  • You must be aged 16 or over (though you can apply in the year you become 16 and your name will be entered once your birth date has passed).
  • You must be baptised.
  • You must be a member of the Church of England and EITHER live in the parish OR have attended St. Peter’s Church regularly for at least six months.

The  form is available for you to download. Please Click Here.
You can then open the application form (check the download folder) and save a copy with a new file name. You then have a choice to print the form and complete it by hand, or you can populate the fillable fields using the keyboard (apart from the 'Signed' field) and then print the form and sign by hand.

Please complete a form today and leave it in the Parish Office pigeon hole in church or post in the Parish Office Post box (outside the church hall).
